And get a beer. Type of food doesn't matter but close to thehospital would be best.

Also, out of curiosity, is that Porky's boudin/gumbo place any good?

On Lee Street by Macarthur drive is a place called crispy Cajun chicken . They have great blue plate specials . There isn't really anything around Rapides hospital .

I've hit spirits a few times recently and it is probably the best in the city, so you did yourself well.

Porkys is good. The boudin is different. Very large chunks of pork so the feel of the boudin is weird but the flavor is pretty dang good for being so far north. Boudin in Alexandria is at quibedeauxs (though this board seems to be torn on it, I love it and compare it to Billy's).

Embers downtown for good gourmet pizza and drinks. Expensive for what it is but well worth it IMO.

Diamond grill is downtown but IMO overrated and expensive.

Clairese's is really good soul food (the ribs are the best I've ever eaten)

Thats a few downtown.
