I was down for the Sugar Bowl game against Arkansas and had a great time. Don't know how you guys feel about it but the eggs Benedict with fried oysters at Stanley's were a highlight for me.

That said. Can I get a couple of recommendations? We are staying at the Marriott on Canal Street and would like to hit a couple of good restaurants while we are there. We arrive on December 30th and leave on the 2nd. New Year's Day is for drinking and football of course.

Thanks to any with insight.

Sorry. Somehow posted the thread twice. Asked for the other thread to be deleted.

Thanks for more info, but you could still be more exact. Budget? Fine dining? Are you able to drive somewhere?

I'll have a rental car but I'd prefer to walk if possible.

Budget isn't too much of a concern for dinner. There will be three of us so I'd like to keep it at say $120-$200 for dinner without drinks. Less is fine of course if the food is great.

Sylvain
August
Cochon
Cochon Butcher
Herbsaint
Domenica

Make ressies as soon as possible.

Thanks guys. I'd rather have a list from people that eat there than some website promoting everything under the sun.

Those are some of the best Nola has to offer.

The ones he listed are some of the best. There are plenty more great ones as well.

Just search this board. The question is asked several times a week and generally always gets answered, so you should be able to find a lot of info.

I suggested exactly that and was smited.

Lots more information in a search than asking, but what do I know.

I could have thrown in uptown spots like Gautreau's, La Petite Grocery, coquette, but I figured I would keep it simple.

Go to Peche.

Everything posted on here from there looks really really good.

They have a fresh whole fish (changes based in availability I think) you can get for the table. It looks unreal.
