Forgive me for my ignorance, but can you explain how exactly the weather affects the pricing?
Do the crawfish just not move much in cold weather and therefore, the traps aren't as full during cold weather? Thus reducing supply and driving the price up in the short term and delaying the start of the "season".
Or does the cold actually kill off the crawfish and ruin the whole season?

they slow down and burrow up. so, no growing, little activity, less feeding, hence catches go way down when it is cold. eventually it will warm up though.
