We’re gonna do dips and other finger foods since both semifinal games are New Year’s Eve. I’ve done a 7 layer, smoked queso, chicken crack, guac, Buffalo chicken, corn and black bean salsa, and a spinach artichoke this year. Y’all got any others that are must try’s? I feel like I cycle through those 7 every football season. Now I need one for the playoff. Or a great finger food. TIA!

You will find a number of links to threads about this in the thread below. Also, check the TD Recipe Book in the sticky above. There are many there.

Yeah I’ve looked at those. Didn’t know if anyone has anything new they’ve tried recently or something. Thanks

i enjoy going back to some of the old things. Lots of these are tried and true multiple times.

Look at the crawfish beignets. They're delicious and unique.

I use Alton Brown's corn dog batter recipe and make shrimp corn dogs. The sauce in the beignet recipe works well it as does the Cousin's Creole Tomato Dressing.

I made these recently. Easy and very tasty. Sort of like pigs in a blanket, but sausage in puffed pastry.

There are 2 dips that people request I bring to parties:

1) Chilli Philly Dip. 2 bricks of Philly cream cheese, 2 cans of hormel no beans chili. 8 oz of pepper jack cheese. Mixed all Philly, chili, and 4 oz of shredded jack in a bowl. Pour into oven safe container. Melt the other half of the shredded jack (4 oz) ontop of the dip in the oven. Serve with corn chips.

2) Garlic Philly Dip. 3 bricks of Philly cream cheese, 1 stalk of green onions, 3-4 raw garlic cloves, pinch of salt, lots of pepper, 1/4 cup of milk. Melt cream cheese in the microwave for 30-40 seconds so it's pliable, chop green onions, dice garlic finely, throw in your pinch of salt. Adding milk will help make it easier to mix but not needed for flavor. After mixing, cover the top with pepper and mix. Cover the top with pepper a second time, mix. Serve with Ruffles.

2 cups shredded chicken, 1 16 Oz sour cream, block of cream cheese, cup of bacon pieces (or more) can never have too much bacon, 2 cups shredded cheddar. Mix all together. Cook on 350 for 25-30 min. Salt and pepper on top.

Optional, add jalapeños or sprinkle cayenne on top.

I actually like it better cold with hot sauce but it’s good either way. Serve with Frito scoops

For tonight instead, but going to try that Bon Ton crab meat au gratin recipe someone posted on here some time back.

Edit: that recipe is outstanding. Followed it exactly except added some diced mushrooms, paprika and a few thin jalapeño slices on top. Would add more jalapeño next time.
