Not sure where the park is, but we ate in Georgetown at 1792 I think was the name and it was great and romantic. In same neighborhood where they filmed The Exorcist.

Bluejacket Brewery is awesome and usually has a great menu. We don't normally eat in that area otherwise tho

When I was in DC and went to a Nationals game, ate at a restaurant named Agua 301 which is located on the waterfront about half a mile or so from the stadium. It had great reviews and was surprisingly good.

Some DC recommendations from a buddy of mine that used to live in DC.

capital hill neighborhood not too far from navy yard where the ballpark is.

Barrel Whiskey Bar

Eastern market neighborhood:
Duck and the peach. Really good restaurant

8th street has a ton of bars and restaurants.

Right next to the ballpark:
Mission
The Salt line
Due south

Washington DC Restaurant Recommendations Near Nationals Park

I will be hitting up the Nats game vs the Rays this Wednesday, so I would also appreciate all info re: food and drinks around nats park.

My plan so far was to go check out the seafood market at the The Municipal Fish Market @ The Wharf (great steamed seafood), then taking scooters over to the stadium area and checking out Top of the Yard before the game, if we can get in.

ETA: has anyone tried Ambar DC before? I have a reservation there Thurs night. Read great reviews and they have a 2 hour all you can eat/drink option for $65/person. It does not look like it isnt too far from the stadium either.

Also, this guy has a fantastic YouTube page with all things DC travel

The answer to this is The Salt Line

All-Purpose for pizza, aperol spritzes and wine.

Yellow Cafe for great Lebanese pita sandwiches.

Bluejacket brewery for beers

La Famosa for Puerto Rican food

Steamed crabs at the Wharf is a worthy pursuit, as is getting a bar seat at Rappahannock Oyster bar at the Wharf.

Anchovy Social is a new rooftop bar close to Bluejacket that is worth a trip.

Also, Danny Meyer just reopened Maialino Mare, a Roman trattoria close to Bluejacket as well. Lovely pastas and wine and ambiance.

Ambar is Fine, but not necessarily worth it. You can rent bikes/scooters through Uber and bikes through Capital Bikeshare to get around. Just use the bike lanes.

Thank you for the info! Do you have a recommendation for a good date night spot somewhere in the city (if its not one of the places you have already mentioned)

If you want something fast there is an incredible fast casual indian spot near the park

LINK

It's one of the things I miss living in Dallas.

All the other recommendations made here are good. Salt line is very good but usually really crowded or was when I lived there a few years ago

Down there?

Chloe
Maialino Mare (Anchovy Social Before)
Albi (Lebanese)

Around town? Let me know where you're staying and I can give you some suggestions if you'll be at another spot in town.

Staying right around Union Station but don't mind taking a Uber somewhere for a solid spot. Thank you again!

Moon Rabbit on the Wharf (Chef Kevin Tien is from Lafayette, used to work at Tsunami)
Mi Vida on the wharf- High end Mexican

I still think Albi and Chloe are top notch as well. Just a plus that they're close to the ball park.

Also, carve out some time to get buckwheat pancakes and fish and grits at Market Lunch in Eastern Market.

Had Ambar when I went to DC 4 years ago. I thought it was by far the best meal I had while there. Did the all you can eat/drink dinner and it was fantastic.

Officina (on the Terrazza) and Zaytinya are both really good options.

4.2 miles to be exact. An exhausting 14 minute taxi ride.
