Walk-On's Bistreaux and Bar announced it will open a new location in River Chase in Covington, La. This will be first Northshore location for the sports bar chain.

They are going to absolutely kill it in that location.

Because it's better to be in a strip mall than under the oaks of the Bogue Falaya near downtown Covington.

Absolutely

Chimes has disappointed us the last couple of times. The food in the Covington location isn't that good. Of course they have tons of beer, but the food menu is pretty meh. The nostalgia factor from Chimes on Chimes St. must be fading for me.

I remember .25 oyster night in college. Duck gumbo was always good as well.

I had Chimes Covington on Monday for lunch. Covington is my favorite Chimes location by leaps and bounds. I'm convinced that their fried shrimp are the best I've ever had short of Maxwell's in Vicksburg.

I opted for the Turkey Club with pepper jack cheese on Monday, but did talk a coworker into the fried shrimp. He was bewildered at the orgasm on his pallet once he consumed the fried shrimp.

It looks awesome until you realize the front of the building faces 2 streets and you have to park on the back side of the building. Didn't really make a whole lot of sense other to give people driving by a pretty cool view.

That place will be busy as hell though. There are 2 huge apartment complexes within walking distance as well as traffic from the shopping center.

What kind of beer menu are we looking at at Walk Ons? I haven't been to one in a number of years.

Why would they open a restaurant there? That's nothing but woods that's owned by the Poole family. The lunch crowd from that new Highland Park Hospital isn't going to keep it afloat.

I haven't been to that area since the early 1990's but I'm sure it's still the same.

Im sure they paid a high dollar consultant and did a few studies before choosing the location. All they do is print money everywhere they open so I bet this one will be fine

They are doing well but not meeting the numbers they are promising franchises. Nonetheless, they are chugging along.
