Taking my dad for his 70th birthday next weekend. Will be there all day Friday and Saturday, and return Sunday afternoon. Was hoping to get some good ideas on a couple restaurants and bars/pubs. My dad will shut it down around 9:30 pm each night. At that point, I'd like to scope the area and see what the nightlife is about. We're staying in the historic district. TIA

You're gonna have to step up your game if you were intending to get a laugh out of that.

Check out the bar at Husk. It is a separate little building next to the restaurant.

Some good eatin' around the old slave market. You can also venture across the bridge to some fine seafood. Patriots Point is worth a visit.

Thanks all, I'll check those out. I've heard Husk mentioned a few times.

Poe's Tavern on Sullivan's Island is always packed. Casual lunch?

Very good hamburgers. Hop skip and jump from Fort Moultrie (if history is an interest). Shem Creek in Mt Pleasant -- good casual seafood on the water. My favorite is Red's. Vickery's if you like fresh fried SF. The Wreck is good too. Hard to get to though.

Charleston eating is similar to NO. (Not quite there, but close) Tons of good eateries. Fleets Seafood is a fried seafood place on the Bay.

As has been said, Poogans, Husk, Queen 82 are side by side on Queens. All good. The Ordinary and Fig are good. Normally need resy's.

Slightly North of Broad Restaurant, High Cotton, Magnolias, Pearlz Oyster Bar, Blossom, Amen Street Fish & Raw Bar, Cypress are all clustered on E Bay St.
Checkout OpenTable for menus, pricing, etc.

For lunch there are a bunch of spots down Kings St.
