My best guess is that it's expensive and the target group from 20 years ago when I went there is now going to 2John's in Bossier City.
Young upwardly mobile professional folks don't live in Shreveport. They live in Bossier and they don't have to cross the river for quality places anymore.

That sucks. Definitely one of my favorites. I have never had anything but GREAT meals there.

Do you consider South Shreveport, Shreveport?

I thought Bossier only had Oil Field Workers, big trucks, and churches... never seen too many professionals there.

Then Kroger Marketplace at Forbing, Silver Star Steakhouse at Forbing and Whole Foods on 70th are all doomed to fail.
I do agree with you that there are a lot more options in Bossier City now than there were in years past.

you're so out of touch its becoming sad
but back to the OP
Village Grille just seemed a bit outdated. My wife enjoyed the charm of the place, but the food wasn't good enough for the price tag and it just wasn't a place for the younger crowd to hang out.

Yes. Shreveport has been annexing land for decades to garner more taxes. They can't annex the river. Smart money has been moving to Bossier for 15 years. Benton, Haughton and South Bossier.

You are about 20 years behind the curve. There are a lot of doctors (like my next door neighbor) who actually work in Shreveport. But they wouldn't dare live there.

Please stop. You literally have no idea what you are talking about.
You are showing your age.

like the time you went on and on about how Shreveport crime has been rising for a decade and Bossier had been declining but the actual facts say the exact opposite?

No, I'm right. Shreveport crime is going through the roof. Bossier crime is scarce as hens teeth. But if you wish to believe otherwise, that is your free choice.

IMO, Fairfield/South Highlands area will always be the nicest area followed by South Shreveport.

I don't disagree that there has been a flight of people moving to Bossier Parish but to act as though it is only "smart" money is silly. The same could be said for North Desoto. I moved from North Bossier to South Shreveport 5 years ago and have gotten the same appreciation on my house there, if not better, than I got in North Bossier.
There are plenty of smart, well educated people moving to South Shreveport and it is booming right now with new construction commercially and residentially.
