Looks like Total Wine is opening in Lafayette at the corner of Kaliste and Ambassador Thursday at 9am.

Does anyone know if they get their stuff from Republic, Shilling and Crescent Crown like everyone else in Lafayette? Do they have their own distribution source?

Basically, are we just getting the same shite as everyone else in town? The same macro's and hand-me-downs from bigger markets?

We aren’t just selling wine. We are selling ‘experiences’. Lol. You kidding me? I need to have an ‘experience’ to buy a bottle of booze? Are they the Starbucks of wine? WTH

It's ok Joe, you can still get your bottle of Jim Beam at the corner quickie mart and never have to go into a Total Wine ever.

That’s what I’m wondering too. I’m not gonna selling out local places over a couple dollars. They better have something I can’t get locally.

I live in a bubble surrounded by multiple wine shops and will continue using these guys. Something about talking left bank cabs with a som over some $10/hr doofus from Metairie.

It couldn't have opened at a better time. A town full of drunks and the bars are closed.

They do get products from Republic and Glazers. They have their own private label wine and spirits that they self distribute through a partnership with an independent distributor in New Orleans.

Honestly I was Pleasantly surprised that there wasn’t a ton of cross over between Total Wine and the local Shops.

Beer wise obviously they carry a ton of local stuff. But wine wise they only have a few bottles here and there that I’ve seen other places like Martins of any of the Grocery Stores. (Beyond the standard big name bottles like Caymus)

Winery Direct and Spirits Direct.

It's good stuff, too. I exclusively buy the handles of Starr Blue Vodka (Spirits Direct brand) because it's a 5-times distilled vodka for $13.99 a handle. Hard to beat that.

Sam's Vodka (Member's Mark) beats it as well for that same price.

Costco French label is my go-to. Really hard to beat a quality Goose knockoff at 19 a handle. Mixes nicely with the grapefruit topo chico.
