Not everyone can remember that she was the actress with those few words in that movie.

Y'all make way to much out of this "ghetto arse people" thing. I think everyone is just scared because they don't know how to handle themselves when they get out of vanillaville.

This. The "ghetto" areas of town never bother me. In fact, I take them on my way home often because I hate traffic.

I also grew up going to north BR and east BR when I went to BR for anything. I didn't even learn this side of town until I went to college.

Plank isn't pretty or anything, but I hardly feel "unsafe" there. Maybe I say that because I went to redemptorist and we ran the neighborhoods around there for PE class.. And I went to that Krispy Kreme all the time late at night with my parents when we'd beg enough.

Martini, you're an old time baton rouge guy. Do you know anyone who still lives in that neighborhood across plank from Tony's? The one with Redemptorist High? That neighborhood always intrigued me. I feel like it's a little diamond in the rough and I'm curious who lives there.

My dad grew up on Shelly street.
Off Evangeline, I believe.

i'm hearing this is a false rumor FWIW

Not hearing any rumors either way. But It seems like Tony's management is too practical to open a business in a congested, parking-deprived, overvalued location like that. Unless they're just planning a very limited offering of their products there.

Their position, correct imo, is that their clientele is willing to drive to them so why move or expand?

That was certainly the old man's position and has been theirs for some time. But if like above it is a limited product line it might do just fine. If anyone can do it they can and certainly have the pockets deep enough to tinker with it until they get it right. A truck could deliver hot boiled crawfish from the other location hourly if need be without much trouble. Wouldn't mind seeing it although I'll always shop at Plank. I've never been one to worry about how far something is away and I drive past several other places to get there.

I wonder why Tony's management didn't respond earlier after the first news article ran in the Times Picauyne last Thursday.

Free publicity? Toe in the water to check the temperature? Must be nice to be the lead on both local news channels, and have articles pop up on every social media site for four straight days.

I went to redemptorist, as did my dad. He's good friends with those folks and they constantly say they don't want to expand. They are sitting on a gold mine over there. Why get greedy and overextend yourself?
