The wireless Mavericks are hard to beat for price and performance.

Never had a maverick, but I use a Thermoworks DOT that has outlasted my previous 3 combined. Simple and effective. $40 on their website.

I got an iGrill 2 last year for christmas and love it. The were bought out by Weber this year so you get the benefits of their customer service now should anything go wrong. One of my probe wires frayed and I called to order a replacement and they sent me one for free.

The smoke is coming out with an accessory next year that increases the range and also connects to your phone. They haven't stated exactly what features it will have on the phone yet but some are saying graphing will be available so you can see temp changes every few minutes on your cook.

I've never been a fan of the Bluetooth mainly bc the signal strengths on them are terrible and you can't be more than 15 ft away from it to monitor your cook.

I have a maverick e-733 and a thermoworks smoke and both have been very good to me. The smoke is much easier to set up and operate.

The mavericks are good thermometer to start with. Had mine for 4 years now and never had to replace a probe yet. The smokes are an extra 40-50 bucks depending on what maverick you're looking at.

This. If you check the Thanksgiving turkey smoker thread you will see some of us posting smartphone screen shots of the current temperature. Love this thing.

Same here, no issues with either probe and the wireless function works flawlessly for me.

Also Thermoworks instant read

This happened to me but I emailed the company and they sent me two new probes 2 day shipping for free.

I'll never buy a different brand now due to their customer service.
