I've heard good things about the new setup/food at Emeril's, but I haven't heard anything about their "wine bar" "next door".

Any thoughts/reviews of the place?

They share the wine list with the restaurant, so they have a pretty nice list.

I just find it interesting I haven't heard anything about it, but it seems to have a decently "fun" and higher end bar menu. I couldn't get in early enough to do the tasting menu in the main room, but started digging into the wine room, and it looked like a pretty good spot.

Went to Emeril's over the weekend. The restaurant experience was top notch with a visit inside the kitchen. We had the classic tasting menu and it was exceptional.

Worth every penny.

We did not sit or eat at the wine bar, but we heard the menu and food in there was amazing.

High recommended.

PS - Men need to wear a sports coat at minimum.

I was disappointed by the wine bar considering how everyone is raving about the main dining room.

Everything we had was fine, but nothing special. There's wasn't a single dish that I thought "wow". There are 4 of us and we shared a bunch of stuff. The sparkling we drank was excellent value for money though.

I believe it was a Thevenet Cremant de Bourgogne

As with everything, I am sure others may disagree

Sure. But it’s not what the kitchen is using to showcase what it does best.

This describes every dining experience I've ever had an an Emeril's affiliated restaurant.

Now that I think about it, though, the old NOLA restaurant was an exception. That place, I just didn't like at all.

The expediter Chef Neil was animated and a hoot to watch in action.
