Just left my house in Prairieville, headed west as far as Elton. My plan is to stick to the 190 corridor. This evening I plan on doing a blind taste test and then I’ll post the results!

Planned stops:
*Benoit’s Country Butcher Block (Addis)
*Kartchner’s (Krotz Springs)
*Billy’s (Krotz Springs)
*Bourque’s (Port Barre)
*Janise’s (Sunset)
*Eunice Superette (Eunice)
*Charlie’s (Mamou)
*T-Boy’s (Mamou)
*Rhea’s (Basile)
*Mr. T’s (Elton)

God speed. I like Boudin on a road trip but do find it can be problematic if you cannot find a clean restroom. I hope you have an idea of relief possibilities in case an emergency should hit.

Agree, and his routing will have limited options.

The Gas Magic stop in Eunice on 190 isn't the worst option, and the Quarters Casino at the Ville Platte exit off I-49 isn't too bad either.

If you've got some room in your belly, the kabobs at the Chevron gas station, intersection of US 190 and LA 26 just East of Elton city limits, are pretty darn good. Get one with fried shrimp and one with seasoned and grilled chicken.

But per Saskwatch's concern, don't count on the restroom at that location being available for any food deposit operations. You might just be better off pulling over into the swampy woodland areas instead.

There is a newer one on 190 right past port barre before you hit I-49, might as well hit that one too

Just my personal, unprofessional opinion, but I see three on his current list that I prefer over Best Stop.

10-15 years ago, Best Stop was the best. I’ve found that quite a few others have since passed it.

Add Fontenot's Grocery in Pine Prairie to your list after the stop in Elton on your way back.

Is the place you’re referring to called Bosco’s? If so, I just passed it. I’ll hit it up on the way back.
