My wife is wanting to take me to Texas de Brazil for my birthday Monday. We have always talked about going and finally are. I had a few questions and figure this board would be the most help. My wife only eats well done meat. Will this be a problem? Also, if you change your card to red can you change it back to green later in the meal? Any other advice or tips? Thanks in advance for the answers.

You can ask them to burn her steak. She will have to sit and wait while you eat. Yes you can turn your card at anytime.

Yeah she is picky about food. No fish or deer either.

Your wife will love it. They bring around well done sirloin and chicken 10x as much as rare filet and lamb.

Do yourself a favor and go to Ruth's Chris and get a real steak.

Just tell them you want it well done and they will cook it more. You can flip card at will.

Bypass the meat and stick with the salad bar and lobster bisque which are the best features of the place.

All of my meat was over salted and well done. Keep a few bottles of water by the bed when you get home.

Pick somewhere else for your birthday, seriously.

I understand some of you don't like the place but my god it's certainly a very popular place for a lot of people. Some people actually like their food salty. If he has not been let him go and decide for himself.

Huge waste of money.

$46 for portions of overcooked, oversalted meat that they SLOWLY bring to your table so you fill up before eating probably $10 worth.

You realize what you can eat at a real steak restaurant for the same price, and get top service and a prime cut of steak?

Do you do the cooking in your house? If so, cook only mid-rare beef, fish and deer every night for dinner. She'll come around.

I'm not sure that I've been to Texas de Brazil but have been to Fogo and a couple of others. While I may prefer a more traditional steak place most of the time, some things I like better about the Brazilian concept:

1. I like salt.
2. I like the variety and mixing it up (like anything else, a steak has diminishing rate of return where the 1st bite is the best. Brazilian has many 1st bites).
3. Sides and salad bar are always really good.
4. With a traditional steak, I usually bring a little home if possible but Brazilian is a good reason to absolutely stuff myself (which I rarely do anymore).
5. Typically very affordable at lunchtime.
6. Some have a salad bar plus one meat special that is also very affordable.

Awesome place. Salad bar, lobster bisque, those potatoes next to the lobster bisque, the cheesy bread balls, and oh yeah, the meats. The fact that there is some hate ITT is proof that some people will just never be happy!

Yes you can tell them you want your meat cooked well or medium well. And you can flip your card from green to red as many times as you like.

My favorites:
-bacon-wrapped filet
-garlic sirloin
-parmesan chicken
