Texas beer haul

Here's a pix of the beers I purchased during a week-long trip to Austin and Houston. We also visited Jester King and Karbach.
Here's a pix of the aging room at Jester King
Here's a pix of a banging-arse bowl of chili I got at the Whip In, in Austin. That's a fried egg on top.

Nice. I love hitting up Whip In and Jester King while I'm in Austin. Two great craft beer destinations.

Thanks!
If you live in Houston, I highly recommend visiting Karbach. You pay $8-$12 (depending on if you want a 8 oz or 16 oz tasting glass) and you get several tokens for beers. Plus, if you bring in a canned good for the food bank, they take a buck off admission. There's an open air beer garden with a nice vibe. The tour was pretty good.
Jester King was OK. Lot of good beers on tap. I finally got to try Funk Metal. And one of the owners gave the tour and they have a real interesting philosophy about beer. What chapped my arse was the automatic 20% tip they applied to the bill. I tip a buck for each beer, not a fee based on the price. My wife picked up the tab for Jester King (we were splitting bills on the trip), and she didn't want to fool with eliminating the mandatory charge.

Is that batch one or two of the Atrial Rubicite?

I was at Karbach on Saturday and really enjoyed it.
It's all outdoors so it was great this weekend, but might be a little rough in the summer heat.

I have no idea if it is one or two. My wife picked it up, she really dug the glass of it she had at Jester King.

Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA
Dogfish Head Festina Peche
Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock
Ballast Point Sculpin IPA
Ballast Point Victory at Sea
Firestone Walker Double Jack IPA
Firestone Walker Wookey Jack
Jester King Black Metal
Unibroue La Fin du Monde
Delirium Noel
Sierra Nevada Northern Hemisphere Harvest IPA
Boulevard Tank 7
Boulevard Bourbon Barrel Quad
North Coast Class of '88
Sure I'm missing some. Going off a picture I took of my trunk.

That's a good haul. A friend of mine brought me some Ten Fidy from when he went to Houston a month or two ago. I meant to get the Ballast Point Sculpin IPA, but I was distracted by too many other things. We also got the Festina Peche, but that's going to a neighbor for picking up our mail, so I didn't shoot a picture of it.

Sculpin is legit. You need to pick up some next time you can. I drank one last night and wish I bought another 6 pack.

I've had Sculpin before and I had a few while I was in Texas on this last trip. Think it is coming to La. in early 2014.

Very nice! I'll be in Austin this weekend and visiting Jester King on Friday. Well be doing a tiny haul.
Karbach is a great place. I loved their brewery

Don't tease us like that. I know it is apparently not moving in Alabama and they are evaluating pulling out, and I was hoping we would get their allocation. Tired of driving to Mobile and Houston to get it, and now that it's available in cans, it is a tailgating dream come true. I might actually like Westbrook IPA a little better, but it's literally a tossup between the two.

It's definitely batch 2. I picked up two of them at the brewery when I was there last week.
