It's pretty good (Blanco), a rich taste.

I drained a bottle of Reposado this weekend, and it was ok. Not too smooth, kinda left me scratching my head as to why I liked the Blanco more.

Tequila is fricking delicious and anyone who doesn't like it has not had decent tequila.

People who don't like tequila think Jose Cuervo gold is tequila.

Espolon

With all the upvotes I am switching to this next time.

Tres Agaves has been my go to, but it's a bit pricey for a mixer teq

El Jimador was my first switch from TA, and it's pretty good for a cheaper alternative. Hoping this Espolon is the right mix of price and taste

It's what I went with based off the recommendations. It is good, at least in a margarita.

I'm gonna try Fortaleza next time.

That's all I'm looking for, so this will work for me.

As far as sipping teqs go, you need to get your hands on:

Riazul (was my favorite until...)

Abandonado extra anejo. This is one of the best spirits I have ever tasted, not just tequilas.

Espolon is decent but it’s a package seller for sure

Codigo Anejo is so good. I agree with the poster from earlier, if you don’t like tequila, you haven’t had a good one.

It may be slightly overpriced compared to some other tequilas but I think it’s pretty damn tasty. It has definitely got me into trying different tequilas

It’s slightly over priced (you can get a bottle for $45), but it’s not bad by any means.

I was on a big Espolon kick until they were out of it at Total Wine and the manager suggested El Padrino Blanco.

Codigo is really good (haven't tried the Rose). I like to try as many different brands as I can, and I have a long way to go as I tend to stick to ones I like - but I will say that if a person likes tequila, they should also explore Mezcal. So much variety in the flavors from different regions.

How you drink it matters. I never shoot tequila. I stick the bottle in my fridge and drink it neat, or in some cases over ice. I don't like to mix it with anything, and I hate margaritas.

Tequila is actually a very healthy beverage. If you are diabetic, or living the no/low carb life - it metabolizes as a protein, not a sugar. You won't see a glucose spike, and drinking tequila will actually level out your blood sugar.

A lot of people don't realize that tequila is a form of Mezcal - like Bourbon is a form of whiskey.

I was browsing Tequila Matchmaker this week and I noticed Fortaleza has almost a cult following. I think it is one of the revered lowland brands. Apparently, there is a whole highland versus lowland debate in tequila circles.

I have settled on Altos reposado and plata, which apparently is one of the better values out there.

One day I will splurge for the Casa Dragones joven.

The Milagro reposado special reserve is my go to. Can be had for $40 and sips extremely well
