I will be in Huntsville in a couple of weeks for work. Staying downtown at the Homewood Suites. I'll have free time at nights on my own, and one day to myself for several hours. Tell me where to eat, any cuisine or price range, lunch or dinner. And where to drink. All I know about Huntsville is NASA and Straight to Ale brewery.
TIA
TIA

Been years since I was there but we hit a decent Indian place once. There is a Ruth's Cris in town too.

Yeah I went on a field trip in the early 80's in grade school. That's the extent of my Huntsville experiences.

Downtown
Upscale
Cotton Row
The Bottle
Commerce Kitchen
Good bars with food
Below the Radar (good craft beer selection)
Humphreys
Pizza
Pane e vino (more upscale with good pasta, pizza chef from NYC)
Sam and Gregs
Craft beer
Old Town Beer exchange
Amendment 21 is a nice bar with good cocktails.
Also check out Pints and Pixels, 80s arcade games and good bar scene. Lot of fun.
All of these are within walking distance of each other downtown. You could walk there from your hotel but may be a little long, you can uber.
Thursday through the weekend downtown has farmer markets and art strolls. You can get drinks to go and walk around.

Previously mentioned but Below the Radar is my favorite spot downtown for drinks and excellent bar food.

Alabama. The NASA part was probably confusing. Sorry.

Po Boy Factory would be a good place for lunch. Amendment XXI is cool place for drinks and is owned by my kin folks so that is a plus . Cotton Row would be a nice spot for dinner. Bridge Street Town Centre is a good place to spend some time and has several places to eat and drink and is close to Cabelas. Providence also has some good eating places like Grille 29.
