Tallulah Crafted Food or The Gregory

Was going to try one with a 225 Best Eats.
Which one?
Which one?

Tallulah was god-awful when I went, and I've heard very few good things about The Gregory. I say wait for another 225 deal.

The flatbreads at The Gregory were pretty good, as was the bread pudding. That plus drinks would be $60-ish. Not bad if you're paying half of that for the coupon. But I wouldn't go out of my way.

The Gregory is crap. You sit in the damn hotel lobby on top of the terrible food

The food at The Gregory is mediocre, but it strikes me as silly to derisively call it a "hotel lobby" when the dining area is one of the prettiest, most interesting dining spaces in the city.
I'm likely going to pass on the dinner 225, but it's still a very decent lunch spot, particularly for those of us who work downtown. And if anyone hasn't stepped foot inside, they should. The murals are very cool.

I've only eaten at the Gregory once, but what I had was pretty good. Puzzled by the hate on here.

It's a bit overpriced, but the food isn't "bad" by any reasonable objective standard.

So if I am more concerned about the food than the service, which one is worth a shot?

Sounds like The Gregory if you have to choose between those two.
There are other places around town that cost a bit less but still have that nicer vibe. Beausoleil, Blend, Bin 77, etc.

I think the Gregory is worth it, especially for $30 off. Tallulah's execution is tremendously spotty, and on the subject of a weird vibe, people dragging their suitcases twenty feet from your table is kind of distracting.
If you were simply asking about the Gregory in general, I'd tell you to check it out for lunch first, see how you liked it. But for a substantial discount? Give it a shot for dinner. If nothing else, the cocktails have been excellent every time I've gone.
ETA just FYI: The menu delivery concept at the Gregory is something I wish more restaurants would move to. When you sit down, they hand you an ipad that contains the entire food, cocktail, and wine menu. If you touch any item, it will give you a picture of the dish/cocktail/wine, description, pairings, etc. I've seen firsthand it allow people at my table who aren't "foodies" be far more comfortable venturing off the beaten path when it came to their order.

Doh.
Gregory deal isn't available now but Tallulah still is.

I obviously can't say for sure, but historically speaking with 225, if something sells out that quickly, it sometimes pops back up.

You hit the nail on the head. I've at The Gregory a couple of times and I enjoyed my meals. Tallulah was OK the last time I ate there 5 years or so ago. It may have plunged off a cliff since then. I never hear about locals eating there.

Tallulah is horrible. It is only open because it is in a hotel and people come in from out of town and don't know any better. It's not worth it, even at 50% off.
