Has anyone else noticed that the Superior Grill margaritas do not have as much alcohol in them? They used to really pack a punch but do not anymore. Also the prices on all menu items have gone way up. A hamburger is about $18 now All of their menu items have gone up considerably. It’s getting to be cost prohibitive.

So now they've gone up from already being high?

I had to stop getting the margs. Too damn sweet and likely using rot gut tequila because my hangovers were horrendous.

Thought about this driving by the other day. The parking lot was packed, could barely find a spot to go to the grocery store. If they're packing the house every night of the week, there is zero incentive to lower prices.

Sure food prices go up all over the place as time goes on. But their prices shot up a lot more than other restaurants!

I'm sure when restaurants go back to full capacity they all will be trying to recoup some of that lost revenue, probably to stay in business.

Superior has always been high. For years I've been saying that me, the wife and 2 small kids can't get out of there for less than $100 (if me and the wife have a drink). It's clean, consistent, good service and a great place for kids. food is OK but we enjoy ourselves there.

What you gonna do?

Define always?

5-7 years ago, maybe you have an argument.

Way back in the day, late 90’s and early 2000’s, I don’t recall people saying that they were expensive.

I agree with this. It's not the best food but it has great atmosphere and something for everybody. I'm not a regular like LL or Motorboat but I like the place.

You're lying. They don't make medium drinks number 1. Number 2, a full size cheeseburger, small fries, and a large drink is $15.26 after tax in Orleans parish.

Hit or miss for me as far as food pricing. Lunch menu is a good deal and lasts until 4pm. You can order nearly anything a la carte for $4ish and I don’t eat rice and beans anyway. Some of the combo plates are a decent deal. The fajitas for 1 person is plenty for 2 people.

But yeah, the burger and a lot of the other dinner menu entrees are expensive.

The margs aren’t cheap, but they’re “large for the price of small” for 3.5 straight hours every day so it’s not a big deal. I usually get the happy hour wine. It’s only $3 and not terrible at all.

This is how I feel. It is what it is. We don’t have kids, both have very small appetites and can get by on a couple a la carte tacos or an appetizer as entrees anyway, and always go during HH.

But I’ll certainly concede that for someone who is going at night with a whole family, it’s not cheap at all.

Number 1: I get this is an anonymous message board, but really, calling a stranger a liar? Odd. To say the least.

Number 2: This wasn’t in Orleans Parish. Ask me the location if you desire to carry a civil and rational conversation with me. Are you capable of doing this?

$18.15 in NYC. Still don't make medium drinks.

Back to the topic, what does a margarita at Superior cost these days? Haven't been in a couple years outside of curb side service during mardi gras, and I assume those prices are inflated.

Superior Grill is probably the most over rated restaurant in BR. They cook all their food a day or two in advance and reheat everything. On top of this, they charge out of the arse for reheated mexican food. My solution to his, stop going. La Carreta is just as good quality and much cheaper. Their happy hour is pretty solid too.

ETA: SG does usually have hot moms there which is a plus

Nope, not when that Superior Platter was $8.95

So around when did they get to be deemed expensive?

$18 seemed high to me too. I just entered this as an online order. The total was $14.92 with tax at the Baton Rouge location.

Cheeseburger $7.99
Small fries $3.19
Medium drink $2.39

Tax $1.35

What a weird thing to argue. It's expensive Mexican food, but who actually cares when it became expensive? Oh yeah, PA. nerd.
