In Laffy, your kidding right?

Non Chain Italian = Immonelli's on Johnston

Non Chain Messican = LaFonda on Johnston, Posado on Ambassador Caffrey, Coyote Blues on Johnston

Then again, theres always the Popeyes on Pinhook and S. College... all u can eat buffet, with sides.

I've noticed you've been pushing this place hard, and I don't blame you.

Haven't been to any in awhile, but I remember all these places being good for family dinner.

LaFonda is the nicer of the places. I used to always get their rabbit, but I'm not sure if they have it anymore.

Chain-ish style I guess. But do you really consider 4 restaurants being a chain? Posado's is more of a chain with 14 restaurants (10 in texas 4 in LA)

Italian Market is probably the best Italian in town. I don't like Immonelli, but Marcellos isnt bad. I wouldn't send anyone to Lafondas that was interested in eating. The place might be an institution, but I think it has the worst food of any Mexican restaurant in town. But it will be kid friendly!

Things must have changed since I've been there. People used to always rave about it. I was never a huge texmex fan so I never really used my own judgement on the place. Just went when others wanted to go.

I do remember liking one or coyote blues' dips though.

Walk On's

Went to the one in BR last night. I have nothing good to say about that experience. I go there to drink on occasion, and rarely eat there, but last night was the worst food I've ever had there.

Cajundillas. Are they always dried out and not filled well? Redbeans and rice tasted like they had tomatos in it.

I need to stick w/ burgers and sandwiches over there.

My wife went with some friends and said it was horrible and she won't be returning.

Italian you could try Bella Figura

Mexican I would go to Coyote Blues, if you do end up at LaFonda's get the fried chicken.
