The last few times I bought steaks from Fresh Market and was disappointed. Any suggestions on where to buy choice or prime steaks in Lafayette?

Lafayette is lacking a good meat place. As much as I hate to promote them, but heleaux's has some decent steaks. Every now and then I will find some decent ones in the window at Albertsons. I also like the cowboy ribeye form rouses.

Sammy's Country Store in Maurice has some pretty solid steaks. But you probably won't want to drive there

I've been meaning to stop at Heleaux's. I was told today their meat is pretty decent. And that their Steen's sausage is better than Nunu's. Which I think is crazy. But I'll try it to find out

Rouse's and Joey's will have prime filet and rib eye. Good stuff.

The dry aged bone-in ribeye at Rouse's is choice and very good, but you have to buy the whole rack ($200) and wait 25 - 40 days. It is worth the money and the wait.

Good Angus choice cuts at Albertson's also.

I agree. But I'll need to try it for myself to find out

Well there's Hebert's in Maurice. Abbeville has a place or two. So does Kaplan. I find smaller towns like Maurice, Abbeville, Kaplan and such have pretty decent Specialty Meat Markets.

Rouses on bertrand had a better seteak selection during football season. youngsville has a better selection in the off season in my humble opinion.
