Do any of you have any recommendations (breakfast, lunch, dinner, breweries, bars, coffee shops). I'll be be there for a couple of days. I'm open to whatever, but are there any "can't miss spots"?

I believe St. Louis has a good Italian scene, so a nice Italian restaurant for dinner sounds on point.

Mission Taco Joint for lunch, then walk across the street for Jenni's Ice Cream.

On Euclid in a great area.

Plenty of good breweries there.

4 Hands
Perennial
Schlafly
Civil Life

There are certainly more, it's been a few years since I was there last.

breakfast

Rooster. Two locations, one downtown, one on South Grand.

lunch

Blues City Deli (Soulard area), The Gramophone (The Grove), Gioia's Deli (The Hill), Adam's Smokehouse (South City, same owners as Pappy's and Bogarts, but without the crowds)

dinner

I like Bridge (downtown). If you go there definitely sit at the bar. 50 something taps rotated twice weekly. I don't have many other dinner recs, especially without knowing price point. If you like Chicago style deep dish, Pi has several locations.

breweries

Civil Life (Tower Grove South, CASH ONLY), 4 Hands (Soulard), Earthbound (Cherokee Street), Heavy Riff (Dogtown), Urban Chesnut (Downtown or the Grove)

bars

Three Kings (The Loop, great beer bar, good food), Planter's House (Lafayette Park area, great cocktails)

quote:

coffee shops

Sump Coffee (South City)

so a nice Italian restaurant for dinner sounds on point

I've been to Giantony's on the Hill, and it was really good, but I don't know about any of the numerous other places around there.

can't miss spots

City Museum, Forest Park, Cathedral Basillica

There is so much more, I just tried to narrow it down to the first places I thought of when I read each category.
