We have a bunch of small hot dog places here in Bham. Its part of the Greek immigrants that came to Bham back in the day. Other than Hot Doug's in Chicago, I don't remember ever seeing a specialty hot dog place.

What are the go-to hot dog places for the F&D Board.

There are a lot of gourmet hotdog places in cities around the country. Biker Jim's in Denver is really good.

Nu Way-Macon (since 1916)
Varsity-Atl (since 1928)
Yesterdog-Grand Rapids (think Hot Dog Nazi)
Crow Bar-Wilmington Island

I love hot dogs. I'm dying to go to Charleston to hit a River Dogs baseball game, solely for the hot dog place in the food court.

Willie's Wee-Nee Wagon in Brunswick, GA. Just down the road from FLETC.

But the Fried Pork Chop Sandwich was every bit as good as the dogs.

I'm within walking distance of two kick arse places in Houston, Good Dog and Happy Fatz. I'm a big fan, though sometimes I want a plain old shitty hot dog and those places just don't do it for me.

Happy Fatz desserts are top notch too.

Sammy's Wild Game Grill has a bunch of awesome hot dogs as well and thier fried pickles are the shite.

ETA - Biker Jims in Denver looks incredible.

Yea, Sammy's is real good if you're in to trying different types of wild game meats in things like hot dogs, sliders, kabobs, empanadas, chili, etc.

ETA - You may have been talking about James Coney Island. If so, it's a good place if you want an old school hot dog.
