Anyone tried ribs in a pressure cooker?
I didn't have time to do sous vide (24hrs)
Im trying the instant pot then a short smoke to finish. What do you think?

I did some babybacks in the Instant Pot once, just for the hell of it. They weren't bad, but I never did it again. Much prefer using the smoker.

They made the rubber seal ring on the lid smell porky as hell, and I could not get the smell out. Ended up ordering new rings.

Bacon drippings may help.

Yes, I think I will have to get dedicated rings for each food type.

This guy blogs about the Instant Pot and grilling/BBQ a lot. He posted the linked recipe for babybacks in the IP, which he admits is not real BBQ. It has good comments.

Couple weeks ago I had to quickly get some ribs together so I said what the hell and did an Instant Pot recipe.

If I recall it was like 30 minutes in the Pot and finished in the oven with sauce already applied for another 30 minutes.

Results were obviously not BBQ but slightly less than fall of the bone St. Louis ribs.

I would compare them to something you would get at VooDoo.
