So I left about 10-15 lbs of boiled crawfish out last night

Someone tell me what I already know.

I can't keep these right?

If it makes a difference:
I dumped them after dark, I collected them before 8 this morning, they were never in direct sunlight and it hasn't been over 63 degrees.

Can I just peel them and cook them in something? That'll kill the bacteria right?

Worst case scenario I eat something delicious and shite my brains out later I'm guessing.

I'm pissed at myself.

Yeah the bacteria has probably already started growing. Best to throw the delicious treats out than to suffer from montezuma's revenge.

I peeled a few them. All smell delicious, not foul at all, and the bags all smell good.

I mean if I deep fry them or Sautee them, that should kill whatever.

Normally I say eat it for most things!

Seafood always has me spooked.

In reality, they are probably fine. They were boiled and soaked it hot salt. I would assume they are more sterile than most food you eat.

But.... it is seafood and I've been beaten over the head my life never to eat seafood that has been sitting out.

How much did you drink, and what time did you pass out?

No it's not really the bacteria you have to worry about, it's the verotoxin that the bacteria secretes. You can't cook it out. Once it's secreted, it's over.

I saved them, peeled them all, no problems. Ate a few, not dead yet.

Gonna make a big arse batch of crawfish cornbread tonight.
