Pot Roast is a favorite for me.

I second the pot roast idea. Crock pots are great for roasts. Cut up some potatoes and throw a bag of baby carrots in as well.

Thanks for the roast idea guys, but i did one last weekend. How about instruction on a brisket? Never done one. How do you slow cook? Do you marinate? Inject? What temp? 225? Approximately how many hours per pound? Any tips are great. Thanks.

you can do a brisket in the oven, but they are better smoked. I've always marinated them for a couple of hours. you can inject them too. about an hour per pound at 250 is probably close to right. I suggest covering it in foil to keep the juices in.
ETA: make sure it's fat side up.

Sounds good. Cover in foil the entire cook time?

Here is a quick recipe from cooks.com
quote:
Lay brisket in a large roaster pan. Pour liquid smoke seasoning over meat and sprinkle generously with onion powder, garlic powder, and celery salt. Cover pan with foil and refrigerate overnight. The next day, uncover and sprinkle meat generously with salt and pepper. Drizzle with Worcestershire sauce. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour per pound at 275 degrees. For the last hour, cover with BBQ sauce and bake 1 more hour, covered. Cool before slicing.

yeah, you won't get that burned crispy outside like you do if you smoke it. but the juices will stay in. hard to frick it up to the point its not good really. just season it with the holy trinity. (salt, pepper, garlic) and slow cook it. You can cajun it up with some tony's or slap ya momma. Dale's, worcestershire, and things like that.
