Went a couple weeks back and the experience wasn't bad. It wasn't great either. The food was ok. Nothing special to really pass on to someone who hasn't been before. The staff was present and nice to deal with. But the light and airy favorites of the 70-80's music as we sat at the bar eating/drinking was a no go. I'll give it another go in a month or so and see if it's any better.

Not sure what that exactly means

I think it's the same as "Denham Springs pretty."

Ascension girls are usually fairly attractive.... they may not have much else working for them but they have the looks.

Anybody know?

Well, so much for that ill fated experiment.

"Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts... for all of your wonderful business. We had some amazing regulars and we enjoyed our time with each and every one of you. It's 11:16pm, January 22nd, 2017.
Sliders has closed it's doors for the last time.
We'll miss you all.
Thank you again.
We gave it our all.

I am not so sure it is the location as much as the restaurants that have occupied it. Santa Fe was poorly run and failed again once it re-opened on Coursey. Sliders made the mistake of opening before they were prepared and a lot of people wrote them off after one or two early visits. Mi Padres and Raising Canes are doing just fine.

I imagine rent on that place is huge. Gotta be hard when most restaurants in Pville are empty 4 nights a week.

I've heard it's the actual set up of the building which makes it difficult for restaurants to make it there. Like the kitchen set up is horrible. I have no first hand knowledge of this and my post is based purely on hearsay.

Isn't the restaurant split into two sides. Only went in that place once.

just seems to happen to certain locations in that area. Same with the corner spot in oak village. I see yet another italian restaurant is giving it a go there.

It may be a tough location, but the food was no help. I went once - and everything on the menu screamed "frozen food paradise" - there was nothing on the menu - nothing - that looked like a house-made specialty. And what I ordered was nothing to write home about. It was just an average place with average food.

If location were the issue, On The Half Shell and Tommy's Fish House would have both gone under along time ago -they are both harder to get to, and have zero visibility compared to this location.
