In the former Sante Fe location on Ultima Plaza. I tried searching it out and I see several restaurants/bars using that same name. I am not sure which incarnation it is going to be. All the signage says now is "Steaks, Burgers, Seafood, Fajitas." Anyone familiar with them?

No. The place in Prairieville is locally owned and operated.

Local guy owns the place and will operate it. He is calling it a "Sports Bar" and grill, but it will be a full blown restaurant serving burgers, tacos, fajitas, steaks and seafood. The owner has plenty of restaurant experience. They are only going to have 8 taps, but a few of them will be craft.

Why? The link was to a chain up in CT. Let's support the local guy.

So does he have to pay for the name Sliders or is he just basing it on their concept?

There is no connection or basis with their concept.

Saw the sign this morning. Hope it works out.

I did find the addition of "fajitas" to the list a bit odd. Especially since there's a Mexican restaurant 100 yards from them.

This is a shame.

Can guess it's bud, bud light, Miller lite, coors light, mich ultra, abita Amber, blue moon or shock top and some import like Stella.

The abita Amber, blue moon and Stella will be considered the "craft" options

Yeah, this would be the norm, but I think he is going to offer a few legit craft options. I hear that a couple of Parish brews will be in the lineup.

Seems like everyone has ghost now, but anything outside of canebreak and southcoast would be legit.

Obviously hope this place does well, just most of the "beer" places in the area don't have the greatest or any rotating craft selections.

Yep. I think there is a market for it down there. I know many people that make their dining location choices based on beer selection. Good food and good beer is a sure thing IMO.

i will definitely give a shot and try to support a local place. but, that location seems to be a death trap for restaurants.

Same here.

It is strange how some spots are like that for no apparent reason, i.e. crappy parking, etc. This place has good visibility and parking and is easy to access. Lets hope this one makes it.
