quote:

The California-based company issued the voluntary recall after quality inspections at its Mills River, North Carolina, brewery detected a limited number of bottles made with a flaw "that may cause a small piece of glass to break off and possibly fall into the bottle, creating a risk of injury," the statement said.

The affected beer has a package date that falls between Dec. 5, 2016, and Jan. 13, 2017 and a brewery code of "M'' — which stands of Mills River — printed directly on bottles and the packaging of cardboard cases.

Aside from its Pale Ale, the Sierra Nevada recall includes 12-ounce bottles of its Beer Camp Golden IPA, Sidecar Orange Pale Ale, Torpedo Extra IPA, Tropical Torpedo, Nooner, Hop Hunter and Otra Vez.

Thanks. I'm a regular consumer of their stout.

Still worth the risk.

I like to joke that I'm responsible for every bar on Frenchmen serving Sierra Nevada. But about 7-8 years ago, only bmc and Cafe Negril sold it. Everywhere else, I'd ask for it everytime I went there. Eventually, it showed up.

I knew I was going to Frenchmen too often, when a Sierra would appear before saying hey to the bartender. They'd just see me and have it there when I walked up. Annoying when I wanted liquor, but it sometimes worked out great.

I remember walking into cafe negril on New year's. The bar was about 5-6 people deep. I got on my toes to look and see which bartenders were working. When all of a sudden, a Sierra Sierra above the crowd, and she handed it off to me like a coconut in Zulu.

Just another example of why cans > bottles.
