Had Shake Shack for the first time last night and I enjoyed it way more than In-N-Out. Not only that, but I had it at an Astros game in the stadium which means it probably wasnt even its best quality than at an actual Shake Shack dine in. The fries were also top notch. Perfect amount of crispy and flavor.

Had Shake Shack in NYC for the first time last summer and found it highly overrated. Love In-N-Out. No comparison.

Agreed. Shake Shack makes a really good burger. And they cook it medium which is a huge plus. In-N-Out is good, but I'd rather have Whataburger any day.

I liked Shake Shack more, but I think I had extremely high expectations for In-N-Out and not as high for Shake Shack, so it left me more impressed.

I had In-N-Out for the first time recently on a business trip. Enjoyed the burger, but the fries were meh.

good call. I was in SF when I tried In-N-Out for the first time cause all the rage I heard. Hadn't heard much about Shake Shack so its deliciousness wasn't judged by expectation

Had In-N-Out for the first time 2 months ago in Vegas.. Very overrated
Fries were better than the burger

Never had Shake Shack but I'd take a Bacon King from Burger King over In-N-Out

They are both overrated, IMO. Decent burgers, but didn't live up to the hype.

Wasn't Baton Rouge supposed to get a Shake Shack at some point?

I like Five Guys more than both the others. Those 3 to me are the "elevated" fast food burgers

I agree with you, but I'm sure we'll both get killed for that "take".

I haven't surfed enough around here. Is this board pro these 2 and anti 5-guys?

Based upon reputation alone, I feel like most people would say that In-N-Out and Shake Shack are better than 5-Guys, and most people here don't really seem to like 5-Guys.

My opinion also. Had In-N-Out in San Diego and Shake Shack in NYC and to me they are comparable to Company Burger here in New Orleans.

Better than fast food to me though.

IMO In-N-Out is miles ahead of Shake Shack. We have this place in DC called Good Stuff Eatery that blows both out of the water. There are also locations in Chicago and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia of all places. The Obama Burger is the greatest burger I have ever eaten. Applewood Bacon, Onion Marmalade, Roquefort Cheese & Horseradish Mayo. I look at burgers completely different after eating this burger!
