I really liked season 1, minus some pretentiousness here and there.

I saw they had season 2 up on netflix, so I started watching, and they have heaps of it right off the bat. The chef this season (can't remember his name) sounds like his dialogue is scripted (gasp). The first episode, he's eating spicy chicken, and he says it pushes the bounds of reality. Really? Really?

I just turned it off after that. I really like the format of the show. I love watching people prepare food, but they over romanticize it.

That's good to hear. I want to enjoy it. That first part of the first episode was a bit much.

I mean...it's a show about food. They are going to romanticize and over exaggerate.

Sean Brock looking at the TV and saying "yeah, it's good", then finishing his chicken wouldn't exactly make good TV

Sure, but do you remember the special effects, the echos they did during that scene? My goodness. It was like someone just told him his parents died.

I thought season one was solid, David Chang is someone you feel like you could have a beer with and he really made me want to try some of those ramen dishes. I liked Sean Brock in season two , especially the episodes about ingredients that have almost gone extinct . I actually got bored when the British woman took over

Season 2 is great. If you've ever had the hottest hot chicken, you'd know it does push the bounds of reality. That shite ain't no joke. Plus they're food nerds, so cut them some slack.

I watched the first few episodes over the weekend. Because of him, I went and had Ramen for the first time last night. I had the biggest craving for it.
