Beringer has a mighty fine bottle of $10 Cab Sauv that I'm sipping on right now. Might be my favorite. Darkhorse also puts out a nice bottle of Cab.

What does "double gold" mean in this competition? I'm assuming these wines are rated relative to their price point so is it saying, "this wine is the least shitty?"

They liked the Sutter Home Cab NV too. I had no idea Sutter Home made decent cheap stuff. Will have to try.
Personally, I am on a Crane Lake kick at the moment. Their Chardonnay is a decent quaffing wine for my dog walks, at $4.49 a bottle.

The apothic red is very heavily blended with white zin. It's meh. The apothic crush and dark are more full bodied and very good. It's a great $8 wine.

I don't believe that. The apothic red, yea, but the dark is pretty good.
