It never ceases to amaze me that people wait over an hour to eat there. Food is average at best.

I don't get it either. Realistically, it is probably the most popular restaurant in town.. and that confuses me. I've never had Sammy's and thought it was gross or anything, but I just don't get waiting over an hour for that type of food.

I live down the street, and I am still amazed when I see the wait outside when I pass.

I've always liked George's so much better than Sammy's.

Sammy was the manager at George's under the overpass for a long time then started Sammy's. His wife was a waitress/bartender at George's then too. Can't remember her name-nice looking redhead. Don't think they are still married.

It's ok from time to time. I sit at the end of the bar. Don't take my seat.

Kind of hard to compete talent wise with the highland location when campus is practically next door with all the potential.

Must have been the Prairieville location. All Sammys are average at best but the Pville location started off shitty and has never improved. Its stays packed and they make $$$ but they won't get any of mine. Terrible food and what makes the other Sammy's decent is the service and cute waitresses, Pville has neither.

Ordered this last time I was at Prairieville location. Terribly greasy and overcooked. Something is up with the cooks there now. I've heard from several that the crawfish aren't the same either.

Have they gone to the work reliese program as their main cooking staff like several local establishments have? A friend of a friend manages one of these eateries and he's said that the quality of food has dropped off at times due to the cooks not giving a shite about what they present on the plate.

Yep there's his problem.
Pretty sure I've never had a steak to go that was worth a shite and wasn't shoe leather by the time I ate it.

But but, isn't the meat supposed to rest? For 20-30 minutes? Sweating in styrofoam in some dudes car?
