This is my absolute favorite indian dish when prepared correctly

I prefer it this way

over this way

make mine greasier, creamier and loaded with freshly strained cheese over rice!

I prefer the bottom example with the big cubes of cheese. Both versions are great. One of the best Indian dishes out there.

Also notable for me are bhindi masala and goat vindaloo.

Is there anywhere in Louisiana that does it well though?

bombay palace in houston (back in the 1990s) made the best saag paneer in the city.

when i came back to visit in 1999 or so, i was told the chef moved to another indian place off of Voss so i dont think its the same.

in nashville, i haven't found an indian place that does it consistently well although Woodlands is close. most buffets rotate it in about once a week so its hard to catch it unless you just order off the menu.

eta just looked at google maps and i think this is the place although not sure if that guy still works there

Love Saag Paneer- one of my favorite ways to have Spinach. But I will admit that Saag Gosht is right up there with it and will have either with happiness at either time.

Anyone got a solid recipe?

We have a couple of good Indian places here in Bham. I'll have to add this to my list of things to try.

To be honest, I'm not sure Ive ever tried it. I dont like cheesy stuff so I always shy away from it. I'll have to try it some time.

That with some garlic Naan and goat pepper fry makes a mighty fine meal:

Yes try it. The cheese 'curds' have almost no flavor except for the curry they absorb.

It's really delicious.. Especially with naan and on some savory rice.
