I live in BR and love the food here and love New Orleans for the same reason. I have eaten the best seafood, sushi, burgers, and ice cream in south LA. When it comes to steak and pizza, The Cub and Johnny's are my favorites simply because they just are. I cannot help where they are located. They were the only two NLA establishments that I was pushing for some tourney advancement. The Cub, IMO, was robbed.

The cuban-style pulled pork pannini and a side of the fresh cut fries. Also a side of the orzo pasta salad. All very good.

Had The Cub won, this round would have been Cub v. Johnny's. And while The Cub will (God willing) be my last meal on this Earth, it wouldn't have the steam-rolling NOLA-crushing power that Johnny's represents in this tourney. Plus, I don't need The Cub gaining any recognition - it's hard enough to get a table there on weekends as it is.

That a regional chain that cooks their pizzas on a conveyor belt like Pizza Hut and Domino's beats a small chef owned restuarant is a joke. Frank Brigsten came in second in the country for the official seafood cook-off and is a James Beard Award winner for the Best Chef in the Southeast. The Johnny's steamroller is more like the Johnny's regionalism Idiocy. I actually have voted against a restuarant on from my own selection committee. Has anyone else done the same?

Last time I checked, everyone's vote counted once on this site and I don't recall the contest being open only for North La residents. Seems more like a lack of passion among the Brigtsen's fans.
