I'd say yes. Leblanc's switched to Rouse's at Drusilla and the quality has gone down notably, and prices have gone up. Rouse's chicken salad sucks, and they stopped making the leblanc's recipe for it. The quality of some of the meat has also gone down. Beer section may or may not be more expensive now, but I think it has gone up in price a dollar
All of this. Plus, Rouses deli meat selection is way worse. LeBlanc's carried really good manda stuff like their Cajun Turkey, Cajun Ham, Corned Beef, and Pastrami. Now, I can't find that stuff anywhere.

They'll need to step up their game big time, if they intend to compete in the Baton Rouge market.

My experiences with them have been bad enough that this switch is going to make me drive further to do my shopping at Robert and Alexanders (although both places have considerably higher prices).

BR is finally getting a good grocery store. Good for them

Only a matter of time until they move their headquarters to Texas

This is such a shame. Louisiana was a hotbed for great family grocery stores.
Rouse's was this at one time....

Mathernes Bluebonnet had been lacking since the sale to Roberts fell thru.
Rouses taking over will be a welcomed change.

No hate, but Rouses seems very overrated by some. The many different prepared foods and lunch foods are just ok, nothing special at all...I go to the one on Airline in BR, and least 2 carts can pass each other on an aisle, unlike Alexander's Market.

Boar's Head was MUCH better than Columbus. Not sure why they switched
The Columbus turkey tastes like pastrami or some shite

The prepared foods at the Rouses in Lafayette are very good (best thing they have going), but I've found their consistency to vary greatly between Rouses locations.
The Rouses in Lafayette were new stores from the ground up vs. existing acquisitions in other markets

Rouse doesn't stand a chance in Texas.
The HEB plus near my house makes Rouses look like a glorified gas station

I quit shopping at Rouses when they quit selling boars head. Champagnes in the oil center is the best kept secret in town. Only place that sells boars head I believe

That Matherene's never really impressed me, especially the meat selection. Perhaps Rouse's will be an improvement.

I went our local Rouse's "Epicurean" today. The Roma tomatoes literally had mold growing on them and flies swarming.

Rouses' sausage sucks.
LeBlanc's' Green Onion chicken sausage was the shite (yes even better than Best Stop). They were constantly out of it for weeks after the flood and one of the butcher's said the kid making it had sustained major damage and wasn't working as much.
They released the Rouses PR right after they started cranking it out at full production again. I went into the store the day they transitioned to Rouses in hopes of getting a couple legacy packs but they had all been replaced with the shitty Rouses Brand.
I spoke with the head butcher and asked why they would quit carrying such a popular product and he just shook his head and said they are Rouses now. He also said they went from selling <100lbs of sausage a week to a couple hundred lbs a day when this kid took over the Leblance's sausage program. Not sure how true this is but if anyone knows how to contact this guy I would love to have him process some deer meat for me next year (and definitely buy some bulk chicken sausage).

Rouses on Drusilla is a shell of what LeBlancs was.
Rouses prepared foods are terrible.
I loved that LeBlancs store.
Was sad to see it go.
