Project Farm - Non Stick Pan Tests

Project Farm, a guy who tests products weekly did a test video on different non stick pans. He tests things like heat distribution and how tough the coatings are. Pretty interesting, some high name brands don't always end up first.

I'm a huge fan of his channel. Thought it was bs though how he carbonized some oil in the carbon steel pan and ran the same test on it. What a shocker it was a disaster.

I was recently looking for a new nonstick skillet. I ended up going with the GreenPan GP5. It was expensive but its pretty awesome so far

That guy tests all kinds of things. Years ago I watched his methodical testing of engine oils and also oil additives on carbon deposits. He's pretty thorough.

Why wouldn’t he test the actual non-stick pan from made in? That makes no sense…. Let me test a carbon steel pan with no coating other than oil vs actual non stick pans. Ha

Yeah, I don't get the impression this dude actually cooks. I have a carbon steel frying pan and, seasoned correctly, it's as non-stick as any non-stick pan.
Also odd he was calling out a stark heat difference between the middle of a pan and the outside walls. "Oh, this one has a 300 degree heat difference!" while showing the the entire base of the pan was reporting the same color temp gradient. Dude, people don't cook on walls of pans...we're concerned with even heat distribution on the cooking area.

I enjoy in depth review videos no matter the content
But this dude screaming at the camera is unbearable

Todd does a pretty good job at testing things and while I might occasionally disagree with his methodology I also don't expect him to spend thousands of dollars on specialized testing equipment for one or two videos.
My gripe with this one is he didn't test a commercial standard nor one made in the US. He could have done it for a wee bit less than the Hexclad by testing an All-Clad D3. I do understand why he tested the Hexclad due to its current marketing saturation. For me, it sucks that all but 2 (3?) pans were made in China and I won't buy anything from China if there is an alternative. I also agree he should have tested the Made In non-stick although it is $40 more than the carbon pan it would be apples to apples and it is made in the US.
