Tried the new place on Juban. Horrible Jambalaya. I've had better out of a box. Stuff was flavorless and rice tasted like minute rice. Don't understand this place, Jambalaya Shop, Rice and Roux, and Swamp Box are far superior.

I've enjoyed pot and paddle. Their pork roast and gravy is money.

You sound whiney. None of those places is going to amaze you with their jambalaya, not sure why you expect it.

The one in Gonzales is incredibly unimpressive. The jambalaya has no flavor, but is really dark. Maybe a little bouquet in there? Jambalaya Shoppe makes better jam and pastalaya and it's not close.

So the name sucks right out the gate. What else is supposed to be good?
Can they beat out Walk Ons and lower end crap places that are going to end up out there?

If yall get the chance try the Jambalaya Spot in Port Allen..... It's near Bergerons. Dude does a pretty damn good jambalaya and Gumbalaya.... You can't beat the portion size for under $10

I thought the jambalaya was good. Not great. Nice portions. The gumbo was below average. I will go back though

The jambalaya at these places is better than the benefit jambalaya dinners, but not a lot better. Jam, like etouffee is one of those things you have to make yourself if you want it to be good.
