I searched and found nothing, so hopefully not repeating. I noticed the past few weeks that it looked shut down and now the sign says “coming Soon, Don Bergeron Enterprises”

I am not in shock as the reviews were terrible and Pat’s came into a market with apparently very little due diligence. Hopefully Bergeron’s will have something tasty as I live near the location!

Good. Went there once and one of our extremely overpriced dishes had something legitimately wrong with it. We were told that the chef didn't really like people complaining about his food.

Good riddance.

There was a thread already about this. And I mentioned that it took longer for Pat's to open than it did for them to shutdown.

I remember someone on here saying (in July) that it would be closed within a year it was so bad. Anyone know what Bergeron is going to do there? I have never been to his place on Jefferson at Gov’t - is it good?

Bergeron is going to move his catering and retail operations into the building. There will also be a banquet room and a place for people to sit down and eat. Here's a link to an Advocate article about this.

I've never eaten at his place on Jefferson, outside of having some free samples during one of the MidCity art hops. But I think he's pretty popular.

This is what the owners of Pat's tell themselves. Actually, considering their other past failures in Baton Rouge, they probably think the entire city is jinxed. Can't be them.

How long did they last?

It was a Ground Pati before that. And Mama Delia's didn't do so well either.

It's just a bad location to get in and out because of the stop light and the turn lane.

I think Mama Delia's has to do with a bat shite crazy owner and Pats not good food to begin with and high prices. I just don't think the right places have opened yet instead of the location. Every place else around there does well.

Bergeron will do well because he has a big catering business so he's not so dependent on the dining room traffic. And his food is good. When it gets cold he starts making soups and he does some really good ones.

It's probably one of the easiest places to get into and out off in Baton Rouge.

Las Palmas easily lasted 10 years there. Not sure why they shut down.

When I lived in BR 2 years ago I would go there 1-2x a week for lunch. It was very good. Hopefully it is still as good.

Seems that way but it's not a destination area, if that makes any sense. There isn't much there like in Towne Center, even though it is relatively close. Unless you live right there, why drive there for some random average food?
