I know BR is supposed to get one (and I'm glad, for the record. Probably my favorite chain), but the negotiations for a lot in Towne Center fell through because the Whole Foods contract, yada, yada (this was back in June or July).

The other half of that was they were supposed to look at lots further down Jefferson Hwy. near Bocage Market (not sure if it's the empty lot on the north side of the Jefferson or the abandoned bank across from Bocage Market).

Anyway, I was curious, Googled, and couldn't find any updates but there WERE job openings being advertised for a BR Panera.

So, that leads to the point of all this: What does that mean? Have they found a place? If so, where, and when will they open?

If anybody knows anything and would like to share, then to you.

Thanks.

This. I used to be a fan and just ate at one in Atlanta today for the first time in a while. It really wasn't as good as I remembered.

We have one by our house here in Katy. Not a big fan. Not terrible, not great either

Their bagels are good IMO and the food is solid for a quick lunch grab. If you're looking for profound food don't eat there. But whenever I drive long distances and need to stop to eat, I will always choose Panera Bread over fast food.

My sentiments as well.

I'd rather have a Newk's up here...that place is great.

It's good at what it's good at.

There are things that are money there. Their mac and cheese is really good. Some of their soups are money. A lot of their bread's money.

In other things, it's McCallister's, basically.

But there are enough things it's really good at to make it my favorite chain.

The franchise is here so they will build. I don't think they have nailed down a location. Limited real estate in that area.

I'm a fan of the lemon chicken orzo soup.
