What's everyone smoking and what are your favorites?

I have a Davidoff Winston Churchill in toro going tonight

I’m taking the night off. We sometimes have a cigar thread on the OT.

It really is; first time I've had it. I was smoking RP Sungrown Maduros and ended up getting a little nauseous last time out. Decided to try something a little milder.

Almost finished with a DTT Mi Querida and some Basil Haydens. Come on Fall weather...this sweltering Houston heat is no good for smoking!

What’s a good cigar for a first timer? I enjoy a good pour of whiskey Or rum a few times A week and wouldn’t mind trying a cigar or two this fall.

I had an aladino toro reserve... Junk. Wouldn't burn straight. Flavor was one dimensional from having to keep hot boxxing it.

Going to have aladino maduro toro box pressed in an hour or two.

Looking forward to it.

It must be the Cajun in me... But I love the sweet sticky heat while I relax in my chair on the porch with a bourbon and cigar.

I was finally able to get my hands on the LFD Andalusian Bull. Very nice 2 hour smoke. Got 5 of those beauties. Saving the other 4 for nice occasions. I enjoy most every LGC and they are my go-to. Especially the corona gorda.

I picked up an Andalusian bull recently and I didn't really care for it. It is a beautifully made cigar for sure, but I ended up putting it out and lighting up a Ramon Allones Special Selection instead.

Decided to burn a New Orleans Cigar Factory stick today.

About as I remember, unremarkable.

Its been awhile since I had one from NO Cigar Factory, but they used to have a cognac dipped cigar that was very good. Actually gave one to Wendell Pierce while he was waiting between scenes he was shooting for the Treme series. A few days later I was walking down the street and got a tap on the shoulder - was him, lighting up another one of the cognac tipped and giving me 3 back in return.
I have some Cubans that a cousin brought back from there that I'm still lighting.

Try a Leon Jimenez for your first. Should be very mild and very enjoyable if you’ve never smoked a cigar.

If you want to step it up, try a Gran Habano Connecticut #1. A little more flavorful but equally smooth. Any Fuentes should be pretty enjoyable as well. Find a ring size you like as well. Toking on a cigar that fits you adds to the experience.

ETA: If you want to blow a bunch of money in a damn good cigar, go get a Davidoff. Been a few years since I had one, but they were really good last time I partook.
