Does anyone have any experience with these. Lot of young toddlers coming to the house this holiday season and I would like to know how these do please.

We've been using one for a couple years. Pretty similar results to the oil, taste is a tad different but that's to be expected. I've done wings and other things in it and it works great.

Best $75 youll ever spend. I cooked a turkey on it two weeks ago, you really cant tell it wasnt fried.
I also love baby back ribs, pork loin roasts and cornish game hens in the oil-less fryer.

Char Grill Tru Big Easy Cooker is the tits. I cooked 2 chicken on it and the skin was crispy, the meat was juicy. Same thing with a stuffed pork chop last night. Excellent gear.
I bought mine at Target.com for about $160.00 and I think it was on sale. I like the final food product better than my BGE (I know, blasphemy) and my Holland Grill.

Masterbuilt Butterball electric?

Looked at Big Easy but have read not to use outdoors in cold weather so I was leery of that.Your experience please?

I cooked on it last night, but my back yard is protected a good bit from the wind.
I cook a lot. At least 3 times a week on the grill. I am totally stoked about how this thing cooks. Totally. I've been telling everyone about how good this thing is. And it is the least expensive cooker I think I have purchased since college.
It's a grill, a roaster and a smoker in 1 unit. Can for a 20 pound turkey.

I bought the masterbuilt butterball one this weekend. Got a small bird in the fridge to test this sucker out this weekend.
Gonna be using the smoke tray with Apple wood as well.
Will let you know how it turns out and post some pics.
Thing appears to be well made and not cheap and flimsy like I was expecting.
Academy had it on sale for $80 this week.

I would have to second the Big Easy. I bought mine last year specifically for Thanksgiving. Initially it seemed expensive for what it is but the heft of the thing and the results it turns out make it worth every cent. I find myself using mine way more often than I ever thought I would. It's just too easy with a Big Easy...

really looks like you can not go far wrong with either, just depends on if you want propane or electric and I am leaning to propane for when the power goes so I can still cook and grill. Next life will be a gas stove too!!

want to try standing rib roast in one as well

I have a Big Easy. Its been great. It will work fine in cold weather, you just need to adjust your cooking time and dont let the wind whirl into it.

thanks. Pretty much decided that is the way I am going to go as well.

nonsense. I've cooked turkey, chicken, pork, and beef in the BE during cold months and never had any issues. Might want to buffer the wind if its blowing 25-30 knots, otherwise you should be good.

I just bought one also. I have always used oil and figured I'd finally give oil-less a try considering I've heard so many good things about them and should be a cost savings in the long run. I went with an electric one.
Side question: Will oil-less still give it a "crunch" like oil did? If not, what are some tips to still get a nice crunch on the turkey (or anything else) when going oil-less? I was thinking about rubbing the bird down with peanut oil? What are some other methods. TIA

This and I use the lid that comes with the cooker. Its not really a lid, as it is only mesh metal, but it really does lock some heat in to give the food a nice crunch.

Wish I would of saw the rubbing the bird down with oil first. That's a good idea. Oh well, maybe for Thanksgiving depending on how this one turns out.
Bird is in the fryer...
The apple wood aroma coming from my basement is too much, I am freakin hungry....

I have one. Love it. Do all kinna shite in it. Have hung pork loins in it, hung a back strap once, did a bucket of chicken wings once. Great tool IMO.
