Trying to decide if I should drive in from Laffy and attend the SushiFest on 8/16 . VIP tickets $75 are sold out ; however pre-event tickets are still available for $15

Based on youtube videos, appears you walk around sampling individual (1 peice) of sushi, sashimi, etc, for $5-$8 each.

Did anyone attend last year, and if so would you do it again ? Are there any demonstrations on: preparation, cutlery, rolling techniques, plating, etc ... Thanks

It's overrated IMO. I'd much rather be a restaurant, getting drinks brought to me and getting my add kissed than waking around the convention center standing in loooong lines to eat 1 $5 piece of sushi. Save your cash and go to tsunami

Not worth it.

The restaurants are essentially giving away their extra junk at cut rate prices.

It seems they count on you not being able to remember their name.

The idea of a sushi festival in New Orleans in mid-August makes my stomach turn. And I like sushi. But I got horrible food poisoning once from bad sushi

My boyfriend & I added it up and it's cheaper (and better) to go to a sushi restaurant than sushi fest.

They should either charge a flat fee to get in & include the stuff in the admission price like Beer Fest or have no admission fee and just charge for food & drinks like FQ Fest. Charging $22 for admission & charging for food & drinks on top of that is a rip-off.

Hell no. I'd rather sit at a sushi bar, Order/eat what I want and drink sake.

No way in hell I would go to this. Come in town and eat at Kanno or Horinoya if you want to eat good sushi.
