limited VIP tickets. Last year they did sell out. There are things on tap in the VIP tent you can't get at the other areas.

I love the small batch guys, homebrew. Very good stuff. Hopefully they can keep their beer cold.

I'm assuming they are serving beer during the noon entrance?

I might have to take advantage of it this year as I have a wedding to go to that night. Might only be able to stay at the event for a couple of hours.

Easily my favorite event in New Orleans.

This is my first year for this event and I'm pumped.

How does the pricing work? Each beer is a flat x amount of dollars or do you pay based on the brewer's price?

Also this new electronic wristband is interesting wrinkle. Do I have to synch my credit card with this wristband? Sounds suspect.

I missed reading this the first round but going back this is what they say about the wristband:

NOLA ON TAP IS GOING CASHLESS!

Exciting news! This year’s NOLA on Tap will be the first Fest in the state to use cashless payment technology wristbands to improve your festival-going experience!

When you arrive at NOLA on Tap you’ll receive your personalized festival wristband to get into the festival faster – and it will also be used as your digital wallet to make purchases – all with a simple tap of your wristband at the vendor stands! The amount will automatically be deducted from your account – it’s quick and easy!

This means you don’t have to worry about walking around the fest fumbling for your wallet or change; instead, enjoy fast, convenient and secure transactions at all food and drink vendors, and NOLA on Tap merchandise tents using your high-tech wristband.

If you’ve already purchased a package online, you will swap it for your personalized wristband when you arrive that day. The NOLA on Tap team can easily register your cashless account and link your wristband on the spot with only your name, email and wristband number. You can add funds to your account simply by logging into your account and Topping-Up online or by visiting a Top Up Station located inside the fest.

In the meantime, check out the video below to learn more about your festival wristband.

didn't know about electronic wristbands. previous years the wrist bands gave to access to about 20 home brew beers.

many cost 2 tickets and a few 3 and for the 50 bucks you got a bracelet with 30 tabs and a shirt.

Along with the fact that not only is there a ton of cool beers to try it, great music, it supports the SPCA.

True, if they improved that list of beer offerings I'd be more inclined to pay

Improved the list of beer offerings? There are 205 offerings and a chunk of them are "great" offerings

ETA: And there are also a ton of homebrew offerings. If you can't go to this event and enjoy a BUNCH of beer then you should probably stay home with your 6pk of michelob and can of Copenhagen

The more I read about the wristband thing the more hassle it seems. So you have to get the wristband in advance (ideally) and link it to your bank account? If you buy it the day of I guess you will have to set it up before you walk in? I agree that it will streamline things but I'd rather the wooden token approach if line wait time is an issue.

The wristband I'm not sure about after looking... for 50 bucks I've been able to get a shirt and plenty of samples before

What you get at each price level is on the webpage, BUT I don't think it says anything gabou how much stuff costs. There are packages with floozies and t-shirts still, if that's your thing.

Wristbands look like you'll get at event activated with preloaded dollars. The band will probably have a number on it to allow going to a website to "reload." I wouldn't expect it to allow a "tab" or pay as you go, but buying tickets ahead like you would if buying physical tickets. But its pretty lame if there are a lot of people and spotty internet. It all sounds like a hassle compared to just selling paper tickets. So good luck with that.
