Tragic news. I’m sure many of us have seen his food truck around the city or at a festival. He opened a brick and mortar location in recent months too.

He was a good man. fricking disgusting news.

Update: Fox 8 just made contact with him. Every single news outlet reported this as fact. Holy shite what a clusterfrick New Orleans news is.

Damn shame. Was not familiar with him or his truck but curious as to what happened.

Natural causes??? And for the record, murder in NOLA now falls under natural causes death category.

He was found wrapped in some blankets by the side of the road in a sketch part of town.

Actual sketch, not just regular New Orleans sketch.

ETA: apparently this is not factual; family said he is still missing

Sounds similar to that guy that went missing in BR a few months ago.

The latest article says police have not ID'd the body yet, but if the family says it's him, it probably is.

The first reports were that the body was an older male, so maybe it isn't him. Not uncommon for social media to get it wrong.

Word coming out is that it’s not him from several sources. But he is still missing.

What a clusterfrick that would be from wdsu. Hope it’s true though.

Man, New Orleans news is about as safe and trustworthy as New Orleans itself.

Defiantly alive. They just interviewed him.

Weird story though. His family is the ones who were saying he died.

People often write defiantly when they intended definitely, but defiantly may fit here. He defied the reports of his death.

This thread (and this whole strange "story") pretty much perfectly encapsulates the current state of the city.

But shortly before 4 p.m., as reporters gathered near the family’s house to report on Scott’s death, the missing chef suddenly walked up, very much alive.

“I’ve been around,” Scott said. “I’ve been around. I essentially just needed some time for myself. ... Life caves in on you sometimes, and that’s just what happened.
