One fairly new restaurant (<6 months) I just noticed it for the first time the other day is Marina's Mexican Grill on Perkins where Oscar's Pizza was

It's a good place imo. Don't know if it will last though. Odd location and BR has plenty of established tex mex already.

Wow, I am so far behind on my Tex-Mex places in Baton Rouge. I realized the other day the that Times on Essen has been replaced by Patron's. Apparently it's been open for months. And there's a Superior Grill being built on near Highland and Kenilworth. Though that one won't be open for months.

Name some places you do enjoy, please.

The food at Marty J's on Perkins is really disappointing. I pickup to-go at the Village Grocery next door or the Jambalaya Shoppe across the street more than I do at Marty J's.

You'd think that Marty J's could make a decent crawfish etouffee, and they did when they 1st opened there, but that sure has changed.

Sliders Sports Grill in Prairieville (on Airline)

Just finished the brisket sliders on ciabatta bread and they were really good. Nothing was greasy and the beer was ice cold. I know this place has gotten a bad wrap in its first 3 weeks but they've put in a noticeable effort to get it right it seems. Great service, tasty food. And they have envie on tap by parish.

A+ visit
