So you have already decided?

No, but going off of past products, i'm confident they won't be competing with Parish or Great Raft any time soon.

I'm willing to eat crow if they prove me wrong.

Macchiato got praise when it came out.

I've seen plenty of people say good things about their new IPA.

It could happen.

Gonna buy #cases so I can ship it to wherever Abita doesn't distribute.

Uhhh...where is that again?

ETA: Apparently West Virginia, Utah, and Wyoming. I guess I can get #cases of Big Bad Baptist?

I think Abita has proven that they should just stay away from IPAs.

Wrought Iron is pretty good when fresh, imo

I like Wrought Iron but don't care for new one they put out.
On another note, the Courtyard Sonic Youth 1983 IPA I had last week was a great beer.

Wrought Iron is pretty nice when fresh. And to be honest, Big Easy IPA is not bad at all either. Had one Sunday, and it's just fine. Way better than Jockamo.

I'm thinking Abita is to Louisiana what Widmer is to Oregon. If anybody ever professes to like a Widmer beer in Oregon, they are subject to scorn from the maven community.

I feel like Abita probably has a more strong connection to Louisiana than Widmer does to Oregon. Being from Louisiana seems to be one of the things Abita grounds themselves in, at least in regards to marketing and branding. Nothing about Widmer screams Oregon to me.

I could be wrong, however. I'm willing to defer to you about this given, you know, you live there and all

Agreed
I like wrought iron
But I've moved on. I'm young, and impressionable. It was a good first IPA to dabble with.

I did a blind taste test with Wrought Iron and Big Easy, and lets just say Wrought Iron came out on top.

Why would you do a side-by-side with an IPA vs Session IPA? Big easy is solid though. If I'm at a BMC bar and Big Easy is available, I'm crushing it.
