I just moved to New Orleans (carrolton & Maple). Can anyone tell me where I can get some good food for cheap in the area? thanks

Throw a rock and you will hit a good spot (as long as its not O'Henry's).
GB's for a burger, Cooter Brown's, Cote d' Sud, Babylon, Lebanon's, Bruno's has good red beans,St. James Cheese Company, Theo's Pizza, Camellia Grill....that's a start at least.

As usual, I agree with TA. You are in an awesome spot for dining. All of those he mentioned are great. Although not my favorite restaurant, Camellia Grill is one of my favorite places to eat. Don't you dare go to O'Henry's to eat. Vincent's on St. Chuck, not far from there, is pretty good too.
One thing you have to understand is that you asked a pretty impossible question. What you asked is the eqivalent of asking if there is anywhere to fish in Louisiana. You need to specify. Do you want to walk or drive to it? Do you want to take the street car to it? How much do you want to spend? What kind of food? Do you want to drink? Are you dining alone or with a date or a friend? Do you want to make friends where you go?
