Going to visit my friend, looking for a good place for dinner. Not expensive and not dressy, something casual.

Thanks!

I really like Crescent City Grill on Hardy. Good New Orleans theme, nice patio, cool beer selection. Prime rib poboy is excellent. Ditto for the shrimp and grits.

It's pretty casual, but Strick's BBQ is amazing, I vastly prefer it over Leatha's, which I find too sweet.

Chesterfield's sold their old location to CVS a couple years ago, but they built a brand new that opened a few months ago on 98.

You are the only person I've ever heard say that.

To OP, check out Caliente Grill. It's like Izzo's but with fresh ingredients, made fresh daily

according to my hattiesburg friends, Conestoga has gone downhill. I was going to go eat there a few weeks ago but they talked me out of it and said i would be better off at Donanelle's if I wanted a steak

Yes, I know, most people really like Leatha's, but I just can't handle the sucrose. We stopped at Strick's Friday for the 1st time and I got the pulled pork sandwich platter. The pork was very good and so were my potato salad and bean sides.

The buffet looked very pedestrian, but I usually stay way from them anyway. I will try Strick's again, I found it on Yelp, I've never heard anything good or bad about it, but what we had was excellent.

I like everything about Leatha's but the food,n just not big on very sweet BBQ, a minority opinion in South Mississippi.
