Peg Leg Porker is right there. Sit at the Bar memphis sushi, some bourbon, wings.

Otaku Ramen also right there. Very good. Hot Chicken Bao.

Arnold's Country Kitchen not far - meat and three and way better than it has any business being.

There is also a lot of activity in East Nashville - Sean Brock has a new place, redheaded stranger, Attaboy, a Roberta's pizza, Folk, Butcher and Bee...

Geist, Chef is awesome. He's worked at La Petite Grocery as a Sous Chef and now is Executive Chef there. He is an extremely talented Chef.

Ok my suggestions are more low brow fantastic food for your money

pizza perfect is always solid

gabbys, hugh babys and bonnie's dairy dip are the best burger joints in the city. eat at whichever one is closer to you.

mas tacos great place to eat in east nashville

rose pepper for the atmosphere & margs, my SiL is the manager.

For Indian Taj Mahal off nolensville is insanely good but Birwachi Point in Cool Springs is equally yummy.

House of Kebab off Nolensville for mediterranian/greek and its not even close.

en fuego is another great mexican place off gallatin pike with great atmosphere & cheap margs.

peter's sushi in brentwood is the best and freshest in town. 10/10.

kein giang was my go to vietnamese but then miss saigon took the crown for their bun and pho but HOLY HELL VN Pho & Deli across the street is 9.9/10 hands down best viertnamese in town* *deduct .01 because if you don't bring cash you're gonna get hit with $10 in ATM withdrawal fees at the ATM inside.

if you want to someplace CRAZY AS HELL, you can't do any better that la costa nayarita in antioch. trust me you'll have a great time there. just be prepared..the crowd ain't playing around there.

look at their crazy arse menu.

cork & cow is a solid steak restaurant in franklin

my favorite by far is taqueira jalisco if you're near the franklin square. they make the corn tortillas from scratch every day and they're insanely delicious. the owner's wife also makes a creamy green sauce that will light your arse up if you're careful but its so damn good.

get a couple suadero tacos and this for the best lunch you've ever had.

lived everywhere in nashville possible since i've been here 25 years.

downtown is overpriced and touristy. i'm providing some great options for food where you're not waiting forever or paying $22 for a cocktail.

I don't disagree with you but OP is literally a tourist. Nobody wants to venture down to Nolensville to eat when there are plenty of great options closer to the city center. Some of your suggestions that are within the city lead me believe you haven't lived in the heart of Nashville in 15 years. Pizza perfect? Come on.

can you honestly recommend anything in the heart of downtown that isn't overpriced to cover the rent?

if he's south gulch he's literally one block from getting on 12th avenue or a couple miles from some of the great ethnic places on nolensville road. an uber shouldn't cost more than a few bucks to go either direction. hell gabby's is practically walking distance from the gulch.

i figured alot of fine dining places would pop up in this thread thats why i prefaced mine with 'great food and prices'

and what's wrong with PP anyway? its my go-to if i dont feel like being fat and going to joeys for a gladiator slice.

For nice dinner, we've really like Etch and the River House. Any of the M street restaurants are good..Moto, Kayne Prime etc. I am trying Geist and Marsh House in a few weeks, both of which Ive heard are great.

Coming from living in Nola for my whole life, most of the food places here are just okay. For instance, CAD just said the VN Pho place is amazing. I beg to differ, its pretty average. The best vietnamese food here is like the worst hole in the wall shop in NOLA.

Rolf and Daughters. Gargamelli Verde was my dish of choice.

Also has a Hattie's, good for lunch.

Staying at the Omni for more exact location. Going to the Saints game Sunday. Not opposed to Uber anywhere. Going with wife so one fancy dinner needed and a good brewery for me.
